ENDANGERED: Fine Art & Photography Contest 2018 Submission.
Having spent my early summers at Bethany Beach, Delaware, I have had a long love affair with the water. It wasn’t until 2013, though, that I focused my artwork on the creatures of the sea. This practice commenced after learning to scuba dive and spending many months on Bonaire, Dutch Caribbean.
I use found and recycled materials and debris generated in daily life as my medium. My work investigates the relationship between the beauty of the oceans, massive amounts of trash generated by human beings, and the impact of human activity on sea creatures and reefs.
I received an MFA from California Institute of the Arts. My work has been exhibited across the United States from Georgia to Washington state including stops in New York, Maryland, Iowa, and Colorado. Publications include: Glastonbury Life, Artist Portfolio Magazine, ArtExhibeo.Com, and ArtKatalyst.
