While at the Toronto Zoo I was able to capture this image of a gibbon crying out. It got me thinking that how every day there are animals crying out for help in the wild as their homes are destroyed but no one is listening. It is as if their voices are silenced. It is our duty as humans to listen to and answer their calls.

Over the last few years my passion for wildlife has surpassed any other love or interest. The rate that we are losing animals due to human greed and climate change is extremely alarming, and action must be taken in every single part of the world to protect species at risk. Having been lucky enough to attend last year's exhibition, I met extraordinary artists who share the same love as I do, all of whom have inspired me to continue fighting for endangered species' protection. Organizations such as the Ellen DeGeneres Wildlife Fund, Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, Jane Goodall Institute, and Orangutan Foundation International are doing incredible work to help save our closest living relatives from extinction, and I applaud their dedication and life's work. As human beings it is our duty to stand up for those who don't have a voice -- the fate of all animals on planet Earth depend on it.
