SUBMISSION: Hands by Geraldine Simmons
When I visited Tarango zoo in Sydney I took a photo of two gorillas sitting side by side as reference for my artwork. I could have drawn them both together only this time I chose to focus on the hands of one of the gorillas in order to show the human element of these most magnificent animals.
These beautiful creatures are calling me to express that they are not just mere commodities; to be exploited, used or forgotten.
