"These “zombie-moose” are quite literally sucked dry of blood, only to fade away, anemic and weak from thousands of plump parasites biting at their skin." "My work combines fact and research with creative narratives to enlighten viewers and emotionally mimic the thrill of scientific discovery. Through reading journals, articles, and books, and partnering with scientists and conservationists, I weave together a story that visually represents the research while allowing the mystery of the unknown to persist. I often accompany each piece with a short statement or quote, meant to give the audience insight into the research behind the work, allowing the viewer to feel a sense of knowledge gaining from a piece of art.
Through combining hard science with fantastical imagery, I hope to send my viewers on a journey mimicking the arch and thrill of research and learning—intrigue, questioning, investigation, and, finally, discovery."
