SUBMISSION: Poaching and Encroaching Diptych by Kathryn Schumacher

ENDANGERED: Fine Art & Photography Contest 2017 Submission.

Poaching and Encroaching Diptych by Kathryn Schumacher. All Rights Reserved.

With my collage art, I try constantly and consistently to provide a pleasing continuum for the eye by connecting color, texture, line and space so that one can "rove" with their eyes-- while they explore my images. The collages consist primarily of watercolors, acrylics, cut paper, pen & ink, monoprints, crayon and pastels. Cutting and selecting the pieces and various types of paper involves an important editing process which is both fun and visually rewarding. Ideas, themes, patterns, and organic shapes often seem to emerge on their own from this creative endeavor. Attention to detail is important in capturing the attention of my audience-- to further draw them into the mixed media montage of art.
