Acrylic on board. “Refugee” is part of my recent series of paintings about the most endangered large herbivores and carnivores. I am honoring the beauty of these creatures and connecting the viewer to an ancient bond we have with animals we have evolved with. In the eye of each animal I paint, I attempt to get to the light within, the soul of the wild.
