Although the overall impression of my work continues to be realistic, I abstract forms and color for greater impact. I am working with the interaction between an image or reality and painting as its own reality. I am fascinated with the ambiguity that occurs between the starting point – the reality of the landscape and its recognizable forms – and the reality of the paint, the surface, and the purely abstract forms that appear.
