Great Elephant and Cattle Egret – Amboseli National Park, Kenya.
This great elephant was strolling along the water's edge when this small cattle egret flew onto his back. It did not bother the elephant in the least as it kept his strolling pace moving forward. Nature is amazing! The great elephant was happy to give his friend a ride as he groomed him.

You can look at this piece and either see a bear being engulfed by flames or rising above them. I wanted to give the viewer a chance to make up their own minds. I feel I need to give a voice to these animals affected by wildfires. I want this image to be powerful enough to start up a conversation.

Most Kermode bears are black, and between 100 to 500 fully white individuals exist. The white variant is known as a Spirit Bear. They make up 10-20% of the Kermode population. Interbreeding with other subspecies of American black bears suggests that, in time, the Kermode subspecies will cease to exist.

This painting was inspired by being drawn into the beauty of Alaskan glaciers. To see and feel the beauty but then to see the evidence of global warming and the rate they are disappearing is a wound - hence Glacial Tears. The reflection lines have a hint of red to add weight like tears of blood.

I believe this is such an important way for the new generations to help and preserve our wildlife.

A white rhino calf will stay with its mother for about three years. Until that time the calf relies on her for protection against predators, mostly lions and hyenas. White Rhino calves generally walk in front of their mothers who gently guide them with their horn.

Making art is one of the things that help get me through life; ever since I was a child, I have doodled and played with art, but it wasn't until 2015, when I sustained a life-changing injury, that I took up Art on a more regular basis by starting with a Diploma in Art and Design.
My professional background was as a vet nurse in animal rescue centres. I would love to be able to make a difference in the world through art like I felt I did with nursing.
During the pandemic, as we were all locked up, I felt this pull to do something for animals, so I started a series of paintings on endangered species for those that can’t speak for themselves.
