Artist Statement

“I am of many homes and many places. I fit in every place and belong no place. I am drawn to a variety of people, languages, cultures, and imagery.  My work reflects who I am.”

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Formative years in Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, and the USA. A Fine Art degree from Skidmore College. MBA from Florida Atlantic University. Living in South Florida for the last few decades, and recently also in the Vail Valley, Colorado.

Painting allows me to live in two worlds simultaneously: the physical world of easel, ground, brushes, canvas, and scene I observe; and the inner world where I interpret what I see and filter the scene through my emotions.

It is the inner world that is oblivious to time or physical sensations like hunger and thirst while I "travel" that keeps me coming back, canvas after canvas, despite the many challenges of being a full-time artist.

I prefer to paint nature "untouched" by man and imagine a pristine world that no longer exists.

I paint the ocean and feel awe at its power and beauty while aware that it is crying out for help from our pollution.

I paint trees in all their splendor, grateful for their shelter, shade, and nourishment while mourning their dwindling numbers.

I paint animals in their savage beauty and try not to despair at their diminishing habitats and resources for survival.
