As an artist, I’ve always felt someone was speaking to me. It wasn't until the endangered animals started speaking to me that I started to actually tell folks that they were speaking to me. It introduced me to a spiritual connection in art I could powerfully relate to.

I feel it is important for me, at this time, to shout out ”Stop killing animals” through art. I truly feel that everything on earth has its specific energy and that when it all comes together, it holds the Universe together. It holds all of us as One. When we remove one of these energies, we create a hole in that perfect Universe. To simplify the image, it is like the game Jenga. So, if we keep killing off other species, this Universe will crumble, indeed.

For years I have painted and, mostly, my art was internal. Color has always been important to me. The concept of these white animals with the blackened, Raku-fired voids bring white and black together in a powerful dynamic: life and death in a perilous balance.

I have always been an admirer of the great apes and their lower relatives. They have always brought me joy and humility when it comes to capturing their essence on paper. When i saw this pose of a young female, I knew i had to capture the purity and sensitivity in her eyes and body language. she represents all the goodness and wisdom of mankind.

To capture a large group of shore birds taking flight at once in an arresting painting or drawing has been an objective of mine for a handful of years. In December 2019, I finally succeeded in shooting some viable reference material for this kind of project. After much cropping and editing, and then further editing on my full-size photo proof with an art crayon to eliminate legs, and beaks, and wings that just didn't seem to make sense, I started on what became my "insanity project." I elected to work in graphite so that I could reduce the resulting drawing to a symphony of lines, shapes and values. For me, absent the romance of color, Take Flight portrays a compelling, engaging cacophony of motion and drama.

Often seen building nests or consuming prey atop telephone poles, channel markers, duck blinds, or specially-made nest platforms, the osprey has capitalized on human-constructed infrastructure to thrive and survive.

Coyotes exemplify how nature often protects itself through blending into the environment. Spotting coyotes in Yellowstone in the Fall requires a sharp eye to detect their movement, as their Fall coloration typically blends right into the grasses through which they traverse.

I love people and animals. The emotion that can be emitted by a slight change in expression is fascinating. I also am drawn to beautiful interiors and nature. I believe that surrounding ourselves with beautiful things - including art - increases our joy.

My life as an artist is inspired by animals, both wild and domestic. I have a deep desire to capture their individual characteristics, personality, and demeanor. The eyes are especially important. If the viewer can look into their eyes and feel the animal's depth and bond with them, I have succeeded in portraying their soul and spirit.

Susan Hillary, is a multi-talented painter, farmer, filmmaker and environmental advocate. Her paintings express energy and motion. Reflections about space and light are essential to her work.

Her art elicits a visceral reaction to the degradation of our environment, bringing attention to mankind’s destruction of our natural resources while celebrating the beauty of our planet; a subject she is passionate about both in her art and in her environmental advocacy.

Susan is a self-taught painter who started painting in the 1980’s on the glass windows found on the streets of NYC. Her work is included in the Gertrude Stein and Devorzan Collections.

I create monumental bronze sculptures that capture bold strength and provocative intelligence. My figures go beyond first impressions to challenge the intellect and cause the viewer to look within themselves for greater meaning. My work reflects my love for classic sculpture, while presenting a modern approach with its presentation and a psychological approach for connection to the struggles and triumphs of life.""

Bobbie Carlyle has been a figurative bronze sculptor for over 20 years with professional experience spanning nearly 40 years. Her career started with a natural affinity for art, which she continues to develop. Her greatest creative enjoyment comes from exploring the subject and coming up with the entity that fully symbolizes it. She has developed much sculpture for private and corporate clients, as well as creating fully integrated artistic site design. Her “Self Made Man” has earned her much recognition and continues to strike a chord with individuals around the world.

I have always had an affinity for animals so after a resurgence in my desire to create artwork, it has been no surprise that wildlife consistently emerges as the main theme for my drawings. Although I can find interest in just about anything, animals are by far my favorite subject matter. I feel there is little else that can compare to the natural, honest energy given off by an animal, be it a family pet or one never meant to be touched by human hands. If we are lucky enough to be included as part of their world, whether for years or just a few moments, we are that much richer for the experience.

Although art classes while in college allowed me to experiment in mediums such as oil and printmaking, I am self-taught at my current medium of choice, the scratchboard, where the artist scratches through a black ink surface to reveal a white layer underneath, essentially “subtractive drawing.”

This is a collaborative artwork between a potter and a painter, It is a commemorative platter dedicated to the Amur Leopard. In this artwork we worked together to bring about a creation that reflects the iconic beauty of this big cat species. We chose the clay body and glaze that would convey the depth of color and texture of Amur Leopards. The overall image is a fleeting one captured in the clay reflecting a glimmer of our admiration for the lives of these leopards. With this piece we hope to draw awareness to the impending extinction of Amur Leopards, and our unique ability as people to help stop the human threat to this species.

I will constantly evolve in my work seeing materials for what possibilities they possess, making new from the old and discarded, with the purpose of educating for a better future.

The Aquatic Ambassador delivers a subtle but urgent message of ""HELP, which can be seen by the viewer under closer examination deep within the Aquatic Ambassadors mouth, while perched on a pedestal of man made trash, ALL of which were retrieved from the waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Hopefully this message will hit home as the viewer can see how all species are dependent on each other for all of our health and well-being.
