My endangered art project is a Black Rhino. I chose a Black Rhino because they are critically endangered and there are only a few of them left. This is because of the rising demand for rhino horn which has driven to poaching record levels. I chose the Black Rhino to symbolize how people have driven them to the brink of extinction.

I have always had a love for animals, especially those that are endangered. Over the last couple of years, I've researched and learned of the threats that are leading these animals to extinction, and now it isn't just a "love" for animals, it's a passion. I want to help them in every way I can, because I truly believe that a world without animals isn't a world at all. Hopefully through my art I can spread that message of hope.

Tigers play a significant role in the ecosystem. They are a symbol of power and they are one of the most iconic animals in Asia. Sadly, they ae being hunted for medical and selfish purposes. Their habitats and existence will one day perish as humans continue to encroach onto nature.

Pizza Bird by Alym Kasymova. All Rights Reserved.

The Dodo Bird is a magnificent species of bird that was washed from the earth's face because people started to hunt them. The exact date isn't certain; people believe these birds were last seen around 1681. I chose this animal because I think that it looks interesting and also because back in my home country we have a place called "Dodo Pizza" ("bird" in Russian is "pizza"). It's a pizzeria where my friends and I used to spend a lot of time and I have a lot of good memories attached to this.

Growing up, my sister and I had this tree over flowed with flowers and hummingbirds surrounding it. We would just stare at their beauty while they ate. I would be very upset to learn if they ever become extinct.

The Malayan Tiger population has had a recent large decrease. Some years ago, our Malayan Tiger population numbered 3,000 but today, thanks to poachers and their longing for tiger skins the population barely reaches 500.

This majestic creature is a large bird and males are well-known for their brightly colored feathers and plumage.

Although these birds have few natural predators, they are facing rapid deforestation in many areas of New Guinea.

This destruction of their habitat has sadly left many of these birds of paradise with no place to nest or live.

In addition, the birds were hunted by Europeans for many years after local peoples had told them that the birds were from the gods.
