The Whooping Crane is such an elegant bird but unfortunately they are being hunted to near extinction. I took an abstract approach to show how the Whooping Crane is vanishing. The red plays an important part in my piece to represent both the vibrancy of these birds and the violence impacted on them.

The massive hunters of the ocean, Great White Sharks, are beautifully frightening species. Although they are frightening to most they are being threatened. These sharks are being hunted for their teeth and fins. They also get raveled into beach mesh nets and they struggle to get out until they die. If we do not stop hunting the giant beasts then they will one day go extinct. They reason I chose this species is because sharks have always fascinated me.

They are endangered due to poaching and deforestation resulting in the complete loss of the habitat. If these acts continue, they will disappear, never to be seen again.

The Dodo Bird is a magnificent species of bird that was washed from the earth's face because people started to hunt them. The exact date isn't certain; people believe these birds were last seen around 1681. I chose this animal because I think that it looks interesting and also because back in my home country we have a place called "Dodo Pizza" ("bird" in Russian is "pizza"). It's a pizzeria where my friends and I used to spend a lot of time and I have a lot of good memories attached to this.
