I began my art career as a technical illustrator and after 20 years evolved into the fine art oil painting end. Strengthening my skills by the grace of God and all those who have helped me along the way. I love the juxtaposition of the old dark colors I have combined from the old master techniques and dark hues with some new representational methods with bright colors and textures to create a uniqueness in my paintings. My travels have inspired me with developing a series approach to painting since I love so many subjects this works well for me. My most recent series is on exotic animals inspired by my brothers work at the Potowatami zoo.

As a visual storyteller, I have spent the last eight years capturing the many inspiring and amazing people around the world in colorful images. At the core of my practice, I celebrate humanity. I constantly strive to connect with others, learn from them, and pay homage to them in a photograph.

As an avid traveler, I enjoy going to different places to see how people live, worship, and simply go about their days.

I have a special fondness for animals. I do walk the walk as I am a pet sitter. It is the I way to pay for my photography, so I am around animals on a daily basis.I feel it is important to take care of the animals who can not take care of themselves. They make us better people.

Photography is not just my medium of choice—it is the vehicle through which I navigate the world. When I go to a new city or event, I always bring my camera, seek out lovely moments, and look to capture them.

Welcome to my brain. It is full of whimsy, joy, compassion and a wee bit of perfectionism. I unabashedly love animals. I spend a lot of time researching the anatomy, personality and habits of the creatures that I draw in order to better convey their essence. I spend as much time as possible with live animals, both captive and free. I then spend hours sketching until I clearly understand the anatomy & my composition. I translate the sketches, by hand, into ink line drawings. Using Micron pens, I build up patterns to develop the forms and textures to make my animals come to life. I am trained as a traditional artist in oil paint. I use my fine art training & aesthetic to build a balance within the whole drawing instead of just a doodle or illustration. Being conservation-conscious, I use refurbished frames on all of my original drawings, and am known to reuse packing and mailing materials to ship things to my collectors.

The Amur tiger, also known as the Siberian tiger, was once hunted to near extinction. When their numbers fell to 40, the Russian government gave them full protection. That was 80 years ago. Their numbers today sit around 450 in the wild, but they remain threatened by illegal poaching and habitat loss caused by illegal logging and forest fires. Though they once ranged throughout the Russian Far East and northern China and Korea, their range is limited now to the forested areas of the Russian Far East.

Whether ""painterly"" animal portraiture or assumption challenging landscapes, my photographs’ aim is to make animals relatable and pull the viewer in to a more intimate experience of our natural world.

I have carried a camera and journal book with me for over 35 years, looking for vignettes that give me pause, an old window, a rusted obsolete fire escape, a flickering hotel sign, an empty field, or a breath-taking vista. These can all be visions that help me to express my feelings, energy, and thoughts onto the world. So much beauty, on so many levels, is taken from us on a daily basis. Much of it we do to ourselves of our own free will. In America, especially, we tend to stucco over or tear down our past and replace it with subpar, soulless, hackneyed structures. My intention is to artistically preserve these little slices. We should not forget these nostalgic series of art dreams. I display them here for our memories and for our children's memories.

As Jack Kerouac said: I realized these were all the snapshots which our children would look at someday with wonder...

Titled 'genus Panthera,' this series of five 50"x72" pencil and oil paintings on linen portrays the five big cats—the lion, tiger, jaguar, leopard, and snow leopard—and the ecosystem that is unique to their habitat. My artistic process begins with discerning the geographical regions within which these cats reside, such as the Sundarbans - the largest mangrove forest in the world. With the curiosity of a naturalist, I research the wildlife specific to each habitat and study the animals' anatomy. I draft a network of lines that run across multiple animals, bringing them together in symbiosis in a landscape of their own and within which they interact. Up to twenty-six animals or twenty-three species can be spotted in one painting. In short, I explore fragile ecosystems and aim to promote conservation by reverse engineering animal anatomy through geometric motion.
