Shade trees in an Asian Elephant sanctuary were being cut down by the local people. Buddist Monks came and blessed the trees, marking them with golden ribbons. Logging activities stopped. The trees continue to spend shade for these gentle giants.

Charlie the Sumatran Orangutan was rescued from the Kuala Lumpur Zoo. He lives in a much larger enclosure in the Singapore Zoo. I visited him often while living in Singapore. He always came close and hung out with me. A pane of glass separated us. Looking into each other`s eyes we found understanding.

What a thrill to observe the mountain gorillas in Bwindi National Park in Uganda! It is alarming to see how their small living space in the extremely mountainous jungle is shrinking. This silverback was obviously "The Boss" of his group.

I took this photograph in 2019 and was so intimidated to paint everything about it, the fox, the tree, the background. I waited 4 years to get better as an artist and finally had enough confidence to tackle it. I am so happy with how he turned out!

Kendra’s work is mainly contemporary colored pencil, using ordinary subjects and compositions to portray them in an extraordinary way. Colored pencils allow her to combine the expressiveness of painting with the control of drawing. She uses color, line, value, shape, and light to portray emotion and luminescence in her work, and her intent is that each element is reflected in one another and develops simultaneously, deepening a relationship with one another.

Elements of nature, scenes from travel, or a unique view of a still life are inspirations for Kendra’s art. She is always trying to discover innovative new ways of working with colored pencils and new surfaces on which to work. These drawings of endangered or vulnerable animals were created from photographs Kendra took while on an African safari in 2021.

Reduce human-tiger conflict. Conduct scientific research on tigers to help inform conservation strategies. Promote tiger-friendly policies. Monitor tiger numbers, population trends, and threats to tigers and their habitats. As top predators, wild tigers play an important role in maintaining the harmony of the planet's ecosystems. By preying on herbivores, tigers help to keep the balance between the prey animals and the forest vegetation which they feed upon. I have to make an impression on people's hearts

Restless Nature Paintings are wild animal portraits created using acrylic paint on gallery wrapped canvas. Successive layers of colorful paint are applied by dry brushing over previous layers allowing some color to show through. Animals are surprisingly realistic, while the colors used are often fantastical.
