ENDANGERED: Fine Art & Photography Contest 2018 Submission.
It is overwhelming, all the news about how our planet is changing on a geologic scale in a lifetime. Charismatic megafauna tug at our heartstrings and become unwitting ambassadors of outrage and change. But all creatures and plants are affected when their habitat is destroyed. This oil on panel attempts to speak for the voiceless creatures and plants dealing with unmitigated ‘progress’ - the destruction of the rain forest. Palm kernel oil is only one of the multitude of threats. We need hope, but that only comes with awareness, action, and conviction.
