Ambassador of the Wild series is both inspired from the remembrance of the great apes tragically lost in the 1995 Philadelphia Zoo Fire, who were my friends and for all the endangered animals of the wild. This sculpture represents the meaningfulness of all the great apes living in our conservation parks and zoos. who bring greater awareness and understanding into the hearts & minds of the public for their greatly endangered cousins in the wild. I consider it a wonderful privilege to be able to study these magnificent animals in person at The Bronx Zoo, The Philadelphia Zoo and other conservation parks. In this sculpture I strove to capture and honor a cherished memory of a great majestic and innocent animal lost.
