"Our lives are intertwined with all living things on the earth, including endangered species. This ring is a surreal depiction of a struggling bone like creature with human legs and feet. Maybe if we see ourselves in the lives of endangered animals, we'll do more to help them. Materials: sterling silver. I am a full time, independent jewellery artist with my Masters in jewellery design. From my home studio in Harriston, Ontario I craft wearable, unique pieces of jewellery. When I’m not running my full time, fine jewellery business, I enjoy creating wearable art that deals with the female body in relationship to the animal body. My work explores the gap between our identity as humans and our existence as animals. By creating jewellery crafted from fine metals, as well as human and animal materials, I bring our attention to the vast difference between how we treat our own bodies in comparison to animal bodies, both alive and dead."
