SUBMISSION: Coelacanth by Celeste Pe

Coelacanth by Celeste Pe. All Rights Reserved.

I chose a coelacanth because when I was younger I was obsessed with them. My mother would print out articles about them for me to read which is what first taught me about what being endangered meant and how pollution is killing sea life. Although the coelacanth was thought to have gone extinct 65 million years ago, and wasn't rediscovered until recent years, it is still at risk from pollution in its waters.

A copper fish made out of sheet metal with a nickel silver sheet metal skeleton soldered on one side.  A ruby/maluninite eye and hanging from a hook is its mouth.  A soda can 6-pack ring made of aluminum.
