Harambe. Mixed media on canvas by Mary Vivo. All Rights Reserved. I began creating my animal montages about two years ago when I became interested in drawing wildlife in their natural habitats. To create the montages, I combine a variety of materials mainly: colored pencil; paper; markers; paint; and a small touch of wildlife surroundings.
My recent idea involved re-sizing the animal montages and placing each on a small card. I then created a companion fact card for each animal. Next, I designed an open box that holds each picture card and fact card side-by-side in their own individual slot making it easy for someone to pick and choose which animal they would like to view and/or read about. The “Fun Facts Wildlife Cards” set was created to be informative and in its entirety, a piece of art.
