Our zoo has had many special babies in the past years, but this year I was captivated by the news of the Western Lowland Gorilla and the Orangutan moms having babies. I visited several times, and was finally able to see mom and baby!! While taking photographs, I was deeply touched and surprised by the depth of the love and care of the moms for their babies. I felt I was allowed to see something very precious and special.
A few days after I had sorted through my photographs, this contest appeared in my emails; and it just seemed meant to be that I try entering the contest with these intimate photographs!!
For this reason of the special beauty of mom and baby, I am entering the celebrating beauty of these endangered species.
